Review of First Round:
On Sunday, April 23rd, First Round took place: the first amateur boxing tournament by Champion Spirit. Eight amateur fighters, including four of our members trained at the Champion Spirit Academy, competed throughout this sporty afternoon. In a friendly atmosphere, about fifty people came to watch the amateur fights hosted by our Art Master Rodrigo. First Round also allowed our spectators to witness a training session by professional boxer Lenar Perez.
The Fights
Four fights set the pace for the tournament. Four amateur boxers trained at the Academy, and four external amateur boxers faced off for victory in three-round fights each. The tournament was an opportunity for them to put their athletic skills into practice for the enjoyment of their spectators.
Lenar Perez: The Champion of Cuba
The tournament was also highlighted by the presence of Lenar Perez. Lenar Perez is a renowned professional boxer with an impressive record: he has 10 fights with 10 wins and 10 K.O.s to his name. He has been crowned champion of Cuba four times.
After the amateur fights, he gave us a demonstration of his talents during a public sparring training session. In this way, he was able to refine his preparation for his professional fight scheduled for May 17th in the 95kg category.
