Review of First Round:
Sunday, April 23rd saw the First Round: the first amateur boxing tournament by Champion Spirit. Eight amateur fighters, including four of our members trained at the Champion Spirit Academy, competed throughout the sporting afternoon. In a friendly atmosphere, around fifty people came to watch the amateur fights animated by our Master of Art Rodrigo. First Round also allowed our spectators to witness a training session by professional boxer Lenar Perez.
The Fights
Four fights set the rhythm for the tournament. Four amateur boxers trained at the Academy and four external amateur boxers battled for victory in three-round fights each. The tournament was an opportunity for them to put their sporting skills into practice for the pleasure of their spectators.
Lenar Perez: The Champion from Cuba
The tournament was also marked by the presence of Lenar Perez. Lenar Perez is a renowned professional boxer with an impressive track record: he has had 10 fights, 10 victories, and 10 K.Os to his name. He has been crowned champion of Cuba four times.
After the amateur fights, he gave us a demonstration of his talents during a public sparring training. This allowed him to refine his preparation for his upcoming professional fight scheduled for May 17th in the 95kg category.
